plank wall land not flat enouph???

Postby firefox2026 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 12:07 am

I tried to search on this, but has anyone had trouble sometimes placing plank walls.. I know the tile is level cause I am using endears client leveling tool. I also tried it on the normal client and same results. However when I try to extent the wall on that one tile it said it isn't flat. huh??? I like to say a few choice words since its hard to destroy one and try to figure out what it doesn't like. Does the tiles that are next to the plank wall have to be level? I also waited a long time before duno if that had something to do with it? I also I have one space that isn't level right across from the tile, but I would think that shouldn't matter technically.

lol well I kept exceeding the download limit or I would have put more in there.. it isn't quite level to the south of that one tile that is the only reason why I can think its not working maybe.

I cannot see a problem here, maybe try actually lowering the land slightly then building it up.

If there was something obstructing it, it would say "Cannot build there", could be a glitch in the Biome itself ?

Could you build the wall from the other side, and try to meet were your current problem is ?

Have you tried to place a new corner post down on this square to see if that even works ? Because if this works, then it could be a rather serious problem with the biome + extending the wooden wall itself.

EDIT: Can you remember if that square in particular had an unique tile of the biome on it, a tree stump or something like this which could add to the problem, and maybe help it be reported.

unfortunately I don't but there might have been a tree there. I tried removing the adjacent plank segment and dug it down match that south edge as best as I could.. It still doesn't work.. Uhhgg.. that was a lot of work for it not working. I can place a new corner post at that point so I guess I have to sacrifice 4 oiled boards which I didn't want to do.

Edit: The more I think about it I think I did destroy a stump along there but I not sure if it was on that tile.

Yea, you should monitor your future expansions, and if this happens again, it could possibility be a mix of the biome, extending walls +??

Sorry for your loss of oiled boards

The forums have a built in limit to the size of attached images. If you have larger, you'll need to use a site like imgur to host them and add a link or in-line the image.

The stump shouldn't have had anything to do with it, but terrain transitions (such as forest to clay) seem to cause issues in some cases. A stump is just an object on the terrain, though if you're near a forest/grassland change, there can be single tile terrains.
