We're guessing he was going to ask for serum, since there weren't any new scents left on any of the active claims within an hour's radius of hers. Which makes it even worse. A person can live with their own belongings dissappering into thin air, but watching the assets of your relatives being destroyed is far worse. This is why when you threaten someone, it is usually more effective to threaten to harm their relatives rather than the person in question directly.
