Actually Living underground was quite common at some points in our history. Caves Especially were sought after as it can be quite a bit of work to dig out enough space for living underground. Cliff and cave houses were common in the Americas' Desert southwest, as well as in area's of egypt and the middle east.

Caves and subterranean homes have a few key benefits.
-They are well insulated, making temperatures within them stay relatively consistent, this makes them ideal for early storage of goods. People today still have root and wine cellars to take advantage of this fact.
-They offer good protection from the elements, wind and rain are generally not an issue for a cave dwelling. the more advanced cave homes account for this and can trap rainwater in cisterns for drinking and other uses.
-The are easily defended, Unless your enemy is ready to drill his way into your home (if you have set it up correctly this is unlikely) there is generally only one entrance, making it easy to defend.

I think its quite interesting how the mine mechanic has developed.

An example, from wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derinkuyu_Underground_City
Shel Kek Nem Ron.

Yes, it had some climate for me, of course there should be limitations what we may build/keep there (fields, pots or any animals should not be allowed).

Living underground... not an issue (with me, anyway).

Farming underground... just defies all logic. Unless we're talking mushrooms.

Now, what was the topic on this thread again?

That Judas stood up 3 days after his death, and GOD punished the scum on the world. :geek:
