How does one "raid" a mine? Did they steal some ore out of the infinite supply? Is your mine(s) your home? Why not put a claimstone on the mine(s) to protect it?

Well spotted. I retract that question and instead propose learning from this and establishing a system of law based on the experience to control your local vagrants and their sticky fingers.

I currently use 2 Mines for 2 different characters as base of operations, both are on claims - but they are lacking gates / walls. Going to get that stuff setup now since people like to wonder into mines i guess...

One good thing that has came out of this is ... when i went lookin for the guy @ Mine #2, i uncovered a fairly large cache of items at a abandoned claim area!

4 containers full of high level inspri's and tons of other goodies - basically replinishing anything that was stolen.

For defenses, mearly create a alt character on a different account, or several.

Give them 1 smooth stone or cricket, to gain free teleport.

Teleport them to your homestead, then remove privileges of your new character, so you need to tress pass on your land.

Then KO your alt outside your mine entrance. Your alt account is now KO'd for 24hours outside your mine entrance, meaning no one gets in, no one gets out. If he is murdered during the 24h, it still takes 8h to turn into a skeleton before it can be moved to give access.

This means your KO'd alt, will protect your mine entrance from being access for a minimum of 8 hours, upto 24 hours.

8-24 hours worth of defenses from an alt, is more defense than even 100 stone hedges would offer you.

Why waste your time in walls, when you can create endless alts, free of charge, for 1 smooth stone each, which would serve the same purpose, and even do a better job, than any amount of walls will offer. KO'd alt = 100% inaccessible for anyone for 8-24h (Except your main as you can send the alt home, and only you can send him home). No other defenses offer this kind of protection, why do you think ALL the top end players do this now ? Except the chief from what i understand.

Create base in mine > have alt guard when your online, move him to leave / enter the mine, when you go to bed, KO the alt, enjoy a minimum of 8hours, 100% protected mine. for 5 mins worth of effort.

Alt gets killed ? who cares, 1 smooth stone and 5 mins later, he is replaced.

It would actually be 32 max as someone could kill the alt right before it was about to waken up.

The problem with this method is

1. If there's no walls, it takes no effort on the raider's part. They just have to kill, set 7 hour 55 minute timer (Depending on how long it takes to get there, or they could just log off outside the place), and prevent a new alt from taking over the area, which would be difficult unless the defender ran an auto-clicker as they wouldn't know when it decays.

2. If it gets fixed (It COULD happen. I guess. They fixed something before. I think.) the defence is rendered useless which would be bad if it enticed lazy people to not build defences.

The advantage is that if you have walls, you can repair them inbetween the alt dying and them coming back after 8 hours effectively doubling your walls. This could be countered by the raider if they left an alt with an alert bot running or even camping. But since it's just a mine and they can't see into it, it's questionable if it's worth camping so I doubt heavy investment.

The minealtblocking is already being looked into. I haven't heard of anything more than "it should be fixed soon."

Find it hard to work out how to "fix" the problem, and the ability to move dead bodies would be one of the solution, but wow, the can of worms opened by doing this would be huge.

Yet, alt blocking already existed with walls when people raided, months ago, but as people got stronger, more outside the box of thinking happened, etc, and mine home's become the rage. I agree alt blocking is a huge problem, but when its the only kind of capable defense in this game, removing it before you balance biles </> defense is a ***** huge mistake.

Or another solution, make mine entrances destroyable, and if destroyed, everything inside the mine is lost. PERIOD.

This would stop the kind of home-mine abuse you currently see, but would kind of kill the game, as living outside is pointless as almost everyone can **** on everyone and the game just becomes a summon ***** on who can produce ***** alts faster. (Unless this was there vision of the game, endless summoning ***** on each other, and who creates the most alts, and quits last, wins)
