If you want to be non-formal and friendly you should say "Privjet". It means "Hello".
If you want to be very formal (people you have never met or older than you) you say "Zdravstvujte" which means basically the same thing.

You can also add "Ochen priyatno" which basically means "Nice to meet you".

If they ask "Kak vas zovut?" they want to know your name.
"Menya zavut..." is "They call me.." (and your name).

Or you could go for "Ya ne govorju po-russki" immidiately, meaning "I don't speak Russian". ;)
