Lifting Objects

Postby RickyP602 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 1:34 am

I would like to see the angle at which you pick an object up also dictates the angle at which it is dropped. Basically right now if you pick a cupboard up your guy always tries to lay it down the wrong way. so moving cupboards is not really feasible. But, if you could pick it up from the back and place it front first or something it would make it easier. this goes for many items.

just my two cents.

Thanks

Not sure if this is OCD alert or not but I agree, for more items, not just cupboards. Ender's terrain tool helps a bit but not a lot.

Give me the ability to place carried items like you do when building, pretty please!

Moving anything around, especially chests is a massive pain, hard to place and never looks good.

I just learned that Ender's client comes with command+z to center clicks inside squares. Perfect for placing 1x1 items, and also worked, with a bit of aiming, when placing crates (toggled on for 1st crate. Toggled off after standing in the middle of square and aiming straight ahead to place 2nd crate).
I think I read that shift+right click does the same thing but I haven't tried.

Shift+right click does indeed work in Ender's in Salem. Just used it yesterday to organize my pots nicely. :)

I think he meant in HnH it places the dropped objects facing you, but in Salem it places all the objects facing away from you...so if you want to put something right next to a wall it is going to be facing the wrong way :/

Ok. I wasn't aware it did this. I've only dabbled with items that has no back or front (crates, urns etc).
