I cede you half your argument.

I don't think five or six 300 humor characters will be enough, even if, as I suspect, you have several backup alts ready to go.

The tribe at this point is reminiscent of nothing so much as a collection of loudmouthed boastful children lacking the means to properly fulfill their promises.

No you just acted like you did, and acted like you was untouchable, hence you was put in your place by chief.

Wow my little thread got some attention. Too bad most of it has been name calling and finger pointing.

If it helps, I'm a humor-noob (on the low end anyway) and a semi-casual.

I don't have the time nor resources to make a super elite fighter in a few days.
I have the time and means to pay a group of thugs their standard wages to help protect me from the standard raiders.
I know good and well nothing is foolproof.

This time around, those thugs are making an attempt at being honorable about it; better than some who simply say 'pay us not to raid you' and don't offer to help with others raiding you.

I've been around these games long enough to know eventually the tribe will fall. No matter how big someone is, they always fall. (BoB on EVE anyone?)

For now, the reigning champ is the tribe. All I can hope for is they stay in business a while since they are affordable to me, and are strong enough to piss off a lot of players, which is very apparent from most of the off topic crap in this thread. Once they eventually get knocked out of power, I only hope I can work with the next.

With as much time and effort as I see them putting in, I have a feeling their tenure with Salem will probably outlast mine. I know what they took from the raid against my foe last night, and I know they are making a KILLING doing what they are doing... which will further help keep them in the killing business longer. For now, I think they are the safest bet.

I understand you weren't around when this all started. I'm merely trying to point out how misplaced the trust people have for the tribe is. I'm probably doing that poorly, at times at least.

They won't be able to keep up the charade forever, that's the point I'm trying to get across.
