Please help - new player & dumb questions

Just started playing and having a blast. I was hoping someone could answer the questions below (none of which I've been able to figure out using the various guides I've found):

1. I found a place that looks good for a homestead (forest, game trail, stone quarry, grasslands, water, nobody around). My question is should I put the homestead claim in the quarry itself (it's big and flat) or nearby? Does putting the claim in the quarry stop me from building other things there, farming, etc?

2. Turkeys. They are everywhere near me but I've got no clue whether I can safely hunt them. I have pugilism and can easily kill crickets/rabbits.

3. Farming. Are there any particular crops I should start with? Are certain crops easier to sell (or does anyone even sell crops at low levels like me)?

4. Lime. The big problem with the spot I found is there's no lime close. Is that a huge issue and would I be better of moving on rather than setting up shop at my current location?

If you if you have yellow bile at 10 you should have no issues stomp/upper cutting a turkey to death just be sure to watch your biles as you fight I believe a turkey can hit for up to 1.5 blood (or more depending on reel).

As for lime this I would consider a necessity or at least to have close by even if it isn't close you could always search the area around you fine a good lime node and setup camp in between that and your ideal spot.

Another option would be to search for a mine in the area and construct your base/farmland around this which in this case you would almost certainly need lime nearby.

As far crops start off with cereal and cabbage get your compost bins up and start off that way.

Uh things I missed... No putting your personal claim shouldn't stop you from building there later, be careful building near a game trail since bears spawn more frequently there.
