We have ambitions to get ambient sound, and more sound in general, into the game. We always consider it for new implementations these days, and we will be going back to add more eventually. Right now we lack some infrastructure to, for example, sync animations and sound and whatnot, but it's on our wish-list.

Woop!

Would love to see music in this game, although if it wasn't purely aesthetic I have no clue how one would measure how good and therefore how effective a song is. It'd be awesome to have a bard in the village who spent all his/her time with drinking beer and playing some nice songs. Implement built in VOIP into the game and we'll have song too.

But this, along with so many other things, are merely on the wishlist. Once again we have to face the cold and hard fact that even though jorb and loftar are close to omnipotent, they aren't capable of doing everything instantly. Time will tell if we get this added, but hopefully we will some time in the future!
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.

I can`t see many feature which adds more quality to Salem with less work then ambient sound.

I was talking about music above ambient sound, I agree this should have high priority.

Holy mother of god. Bump and +10 to this idea specifically so that I can play you all the song of my people. The "YMCA".

And so that the chief can play the song of his people with the appropriate instrument; also from his people.

I guess a necro is better than a repost in the end.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.
