Scent?

I just had my claim cleaned out over night, but I can't find a scent or any evidence of the crime.

What does the scent icon look like?

How long does it last for larceny? Its been less than 8 hrs.

If you go into adventure menu, you should see a button called tracking. You have to turn it on every time you start playing. Then you must either go to Boston (or whatever main city you have) and back or leave the area and come back. Then you should see pink explanation marks. Those are scents.

Will I be able to recover my items if they are on his claim if I don't have larceny?

Can someone be summoned if they don't have a claim or homestead?

If I were to steal my stuff back would I be able to avoid being summoned while logged off by not having a claim?

Yeah, if you don't have a homestead whoever is summoning you can do it at his homestead and you will be instakilled (because people were abusing this to teleport around the map).
