Anyone actually seen the percentage rise over time? From my quick tests it seem the percentage is set between first inspirational is studied until a proficiencies is choosen? There is even a Reset button below which remove everything you've studied and set the counter back to 100%.

I enjoy that it puts a very strong emphasis on variance but I'm slightly inclined to agree. Its current rate is steep enough to negate the value of consuming multiple of an item almost entirely.

Do the learning speed skills maybe negate a bit of the ability % as well? does anyone know yet?
can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out. - Battlebug (Sw:tor forums pre-wipe)

Learning ability doesn't have a minimum, it can go right down to 0% and you get no benefit at all from the inspirational you were using until you learn a skill or increase a stat.

No. These just speed up the rate at which you study inspirationals. (Already have the first skill.)

I think this number needs to be exponential but in the opposite direction. Right now you have your biggest drop when you study an item the second time, from %100 to %70. The penalty should be something around %100 to %90, %90 to %70, %70 to % 40, % 40 to 10, ect.

It already doesn't take much to get it down to 0%.

Actually, it appears to be on an inverse exponential curve. Again... needs some testing.

Eh, it might be better just to leave it as a minimum of 10% (meaning all inspirationals can still be spammed, but it heavily prefers variety). I'm not at all phased
by the grinding personally, but it may mean there should be some adjustments on skill requirements. Horticulture might be a little absurdly high to obtain of current.

Buuuuut. Purity in some form or another IS coming back. I do believe this will help deal with this issue. We're all being short sighted with the gameplay of the now compared to the gameplay as it eventually will be.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

So am I the only one who read Jorb's post?

There is now a variance penalty to studying inspirationals of the same type over and over again. If you do so, your learning ability will be reduced, and modify any Learning points you acquire from such inspirationals. You can restore your learning ability by studying a type of inspirational that you haven't studied before since your last level up. Increasing a proficiency or buying a skill (leveling up) will reset the learning ability.
