I am going to check dates but I am fairly certain Raoul had messaged us to join before Greg had planted the alt/come out about the alt.

Here are my motives, in order of decreasing importance:
-JordanColes did not pay the debt he owed for one Plymouth Frock, purchased October 15th.

I literally cannot believe you put this first.

-Gallow Hills was a town with a history of picking on hermits and smaller towns, and needed to be bloodied.

Uh, ok, so giving their whole base to a group of essentially pure griefers is better, right?

-Both Gallow Hills and MM Tribe were focusing their efforts on raiding newbies and hermits in-game, while only fighting with words on the forums, and so I desired an escalation of their conflict. It is better for newbies and hermits when bandits and raiders are occupied with fighting each other.

Yeah, that worked out great didnt it. The people who suffer most in any war are the weak, and it was rather stupid of you not to realise this. I was going to write an article for the Courant (RIP) explaining this fact when Mushibag massacred the reservation newbs, but the story then took a vaguely religious turn, so I changed the article.

-Mushibag inadvertently ruined my month-long effort to plant a spy (Mean Mike McCoy) into MM Tribe, and destroy it in a way similar to what was enacted upon Gallow Hills

Yeah, I really don't get the point of the thread. Did he expect people to admire what he did? Spies are only cool in movies, in life and Team Fortress alike everyone despises them.

GH should have just protected their town bell with 300s worth of pclaim, problem solved.

Your own fault really for inviting a very dubious character into the village and not solving security issues very clearly discussed and made public on these boards. I read Paymasters post in pilgrims section and almost replied that i felt he shouldn't be trusted, but then i thought that is for village leaders to decide.

So my thoughts:

1) Paymaster is criminal scum, his reasons are invalid. I do not believe JColes would not reimburse the cost of a frock. MMtribe have admitted to the destrucion of around 200 hermitages aswell as posting evidence of the murdering of fresh noobs outside Boston. By contrast GH have stole a table and chairs when there was nothing to stop them flattening that claim. It is not GH fault for saving New Roanoke, indeed if Paymaster was indeed a champion of peaceful players he would commend this. Unfortunately due to the nature of the game he will most likely be able to pull off more betrayals in the future.

2) Whether bugged or not, Gallows Hill made a massive mistake in not securing their town bell.

3) Hopefully nobody quits as a result of these actions and we see a return to balance in the future.

4) Apparently rather than trying to take revenge on MM tribe or Paymaster, GH is attacking hermitages or small villages in order to recover some of their shattered ego. Therefore announcing themselves as little more than criminal scum aswell.

Considering these guys just took over someone else's town (using the same bug I hear), why not ask the folks who's town was taken over?
