There is no server travel yet, nor has there been any hint at being there. And if server travel is implemented but is a rare expensive thing, it would still make sense to have these subforums.

Its been said multiple times by the devs there WILL be server travel.

The decision is that right now it won't be done. I'm all for more reasons for it to be done. Even with multiple servers, there's likely to be some fee for moving between colonies, and people are going to want to shop local for most things. Why travel to Roanoke from Boston for just a few nails? It's my opinion it'll be much easier to shop locally if things divided up.

Of course, if we get a proper market in-game, that will make this whole concept moot as there will be little that needs to be traded on the forum. Selling claims, mines, services, etc. will probably be it--in other words, stuff you can't put in the market.
