Not sure if anyone has ever mentioned this but something that I think would be interesting to add some variance to AI mobs would be NPC Indians.
For starters they could all be attack on sight to pilgrims, but maybe later in development could be a source of silver sink for them selling rare items to players.
My idea is that very rarely in the world a camp of Indians will spawn with some teepees and stuff and if the player, or group of players can tackle the indians they will have access to some neat rewards. Maybe a few indian feathers and some already dried hides, or just anything you can think of really. Would encourage group PvE combat play and for people to go hunting for these camps.
Like I said, later there could be friendly indian camps that evil players could decide to murder to prevent other people from trading with them.
