Destroying my own stuff

Re: Make it easier to destroy objects on your own claim...

Forgot to mention, it would be much easier if the shop were to sell an item that would let you instantly destroy things on your own property, than to implement some special rules for claim owners. As a matter of fact, I will add my idea to the cash shop thread.

getting your phlegm above 25 is stupid easy. go eat a bunch of turkey and rabbit

I have never built a fence in real life, but I imagine I could destroy it faster than I build it. I say make building stuff harder!

sounds good! Phlegm needed to build stone walls = 50+! More nabs to raid (i bet all raiders will be happy) ¦]

It's actually critical that you can build stuff you can't destroy phlegm wise. Otherwise you'd be outta luck with raiders entirely.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I can't speak for stone walls, but I've found it much easier to build things by hand than to tear them down by hand. Now, when you add in power tools and such, tearing things down becomes easier and less time consuming. Building takes less manual energy, but more time.

Let's take a concrete slab for instance. I have to make a form of wood, mix some concrete, and then pour and smooth it.

If I decide to remove this slab later, I have to whip out a heavy hammer. Bring in the sledge!! I don't know if any of you have had to do this, but in just 30 minutes I've spent more energy swinging that hammer than it took doing all the prep work and mixing, and mixing by hand is quite a bit of effort. If it's a thick slab, it can take a few hours of beating on it to break it up into chunks small enough to pick up and move.

One idea ive had since posting, is that buildings or structure you build could have a period before they "set". For instance, if you build a stone wall segment, after you have "built" it, there could be a 1 hour grace period as the stone is setting, if in that time you realize you have made a mistake you can destroy it much faster. This would go along ways in helping newer players deal with issues such as this, without giving much room for exploitable loopholes.

Sevenless wrote:Lets play devil's advocate here. What if a spy gets into your town/settlement? With low humours they could tear a hole in the wall with a very little effort/character development. Boom, your place is open to being raided.

We're assuming the bonus applies to anyone with vandal rights on the claim (otherwise the claim owner would need to do everything, and that has its own problems)

Could there just be another tier in the permissions for some kind of full rights beyond just Vandalism? Something like "Foreman" with full rights, IE Admin mode.
