Missing character

Hi. I logged in after long break, my character was still there. I went somewhere and now i dont have my character on the list. Shouldnt i got any news if my character died?

If I'm correct then characters will only disappear from the list if they're dead. You can verify that the character is actually dead if it has a hearth secret. Add that char on an alt and if it's online then it is 100% dead since dead characters will always appear online.

they only appear online for a short while (like, a week)

It says "No such homestead secret has been choosen by anyone". Is there another way to check if character is dead or what happend to it?
Edit: I found my character by direct ancestors, but it dont say if he dead. The fact that he is in ancestors automaticly means that character is dead?

Unfortunately I believe it is gone. I don't think there is any indication given when a character dies, it simply is removed from the list. Sorry for your loss.

Maybe someone with more experience in this game knows for sure if there is any indication given when a character dies. I'm just replying because I think I'm correct and I don't want you to wait for a response.

Edit: Yes you can only inherit dead characters so the fact that he appears as an ancestor should be an indication that it is dead.
