"application not found" error

Searched forum for related issues; solutions offered did not work. I was recently directed to download a Java update (Java 7 Update 9). After download, attempted to play via Ender client and received a pop up error "application not found". Deleted folders and cleared Java cache, still no resolution. Tried using standard client (http://plymouth.seatribe.se/java/salem.jnlp) and received the same pop up. I'm not very tech savvy, so not too sure what i may need to do to resolve this issue. Any help would be much obliged.

UPDATED 12/2/12: File corruption was detected in Java. Complete uninstall of Java from system and re-install resolved issue.
