or does it only apply to preexisting claims?

Nope. Consider it, indeed, a limited time offer.

Right. I gotta say, i don't like this at all, although people with enough silver to make it really worthwhile vaulting already have a vault (stand), and I've abused this offer just now myself.

Of everything out there, silver is the easiest to alt vault. I don't see why it's such a big deal.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Its not really a big deal, although transferring 1000s of silver between servers is fun :), and I don't like altvaults either.

I don't know why I was so rude though, its probably the hangover... The update is, other than that, totally amazing :), thankyou so much.

Because when (if) new server is opened those people will be able to buy stalls in the first day, without spending any $

Is it really that hard to pay this couple of silver per day?

Can anyone shed light as to why i shouldn't just declaim my stone and build a leanto to dodge the taxes? (No one can even get into my plot without a key).

Your personal claim can protect you from your neighbors, should they decide to maul your wall. Of course, it won't stop them from removing your claim if they're willing to pay the price.

Treeplanting
Learn Forestry. Strike cuttings from trees. Plant cuttings in pots. Watch them grow, or watch them wither. Plant trees from sprouts by carrying the pot and Right-Clicking the ground where you wish to plant the tree. Trees take about one RL week to grow up.

My prayers in the church of jorb has been heard! THANK U SO MUCH! :D

Its not that its hard, its that i dont like this new mechanic....I can understand a "Town" having a upkeep fee...

but when it goes personal... I think its a negitive and overall bad for new players ...

If abandoned Claims for non active players is a issue | why not just do the "DECAY" event after player (X) has been logged out for (y) time.

Because inactive players are not the only problem. There are also active players who left claims around the world. Now those claims will decay as well, even though the player remains active.
