leanto gone and all stuff stored inside

My wife and I have a claim and her leanto was just outside of the claim, there are two other leantos outside our claim as well (friends of ours). My wife and friend traveled north of our area and then came back (20 min gone), my wife's leanto was gone along with 2 boxes full of stuff which includes 2 iron bars, 2 iron nails, 9 baby corn, 56 seed of corn, 50 seeds of cereal, and other trival things. From what I understand leanto's that are homesteads don't take decay, nothing was touched and other leanto's were not gone so I am guessing it wasn't a traveler.. that and we havn't seen any people at all as we are really far out there... So any clues as to what happened? and is it possible to retrieve the iron bars, nails and seeds? If the stuff can't be recovered then ok fine.. I just wanted to make sure the devs know about this incase it was a bug and I would like to know how it happened so I can make sure it doesn't happen again

If it was not claimed, it most likely decayed.

Somebody could have come along and smashed it but they would need the waste skill. If you turn on tracking and reload the map you would be able to see clues left behind by the criminal.

Even a lean-to set as a homestead will decay if it's not on a village or personal claim. Usually happens very very slowly and gives visual cues (turns more and more red), but you could get unlucky with decay ticks.

ok, will have to make sure everything is on a claim from now on.. there should be a warning about this as a claimed leanto is the only way to protect your stuff before getting settling and when it's destroyed the stuff inside just disappears???? why didn't the boxes drop out of the leanto when the leanto disappeared?

Anyway I would like to get the items reinburced as I paid for silver with real money. Please let me know if this is possible.

They more than likely DID drop out, but someone walked by and snagged em before you got back. Unclaimed crates full of items outside a claim is like gold to a random lowbie strolling by.

Probably not, it'd really just start a snowball effect with everyone who buys from the store and gets robbed, trades away their items and has regrets, drops it by mistake, just wants 2x the items, etc. to start trying to get a bunch of free stuff.

Hell yeah, my lowbie loves coming across stuff like that. Any unclaimed containers I find are promptly perused and any valuables are pillaged.

I lost all of my stuff as well because my leanto was outside of our claim :/ Sucks losing all of that.
