If you don't care about graphics you might as well just not play video games at all.

I understand that you have the mind of a handicapped child but it have been proven time and again that graphics mean ***** all to a game. If the gameplay and mechanics are there then you can have a amazing game without graphics.

Rifmaster wrote:Should I make it clear again that you should read through the thread again and realise that i am not saying games can not be good without good graphics, but that I'm saying dwarf fortress has pretty much no graphics, which makes Rimworld better for non nerds.

Unfortunately this is exactly what you have been claiming. Rimworld is a terrible money grabbing game with almost no content after years of development. A game that is nothing but letters, numbers and symbols has more to offer in story, mechanics, playability and replayability. DF is just a all around better game in every aspect of gaming. You don't have to be a nerd to enjoy a game without graphics.

If you honestly believe everything you have said then I truly feel sorry for your sad life. You must be a really lonely person

Well I'd like to see you go grab average joe out in the street, show him dwarf fortress and ask him if he wants to play it.
Spoilers, he won't.

Also, why would I go through the hassle of installing mods when I can just play rimworld.

I've actually gotten a ton of people to play DF from work and class when I was in college. Meow got interested just from this thread.

Well for one you really shouldn't praise a game you just admitted to pirating. If you enjoy it so much then you need to support the devs. Oh and it's illegal.

Two no one said you had to play a better game, you choose not to.

I'm not going to spend 30$ on a game, I live in a ****** country and I have more important stuff to spend my money on.

Well let's just lay the topic of whether DF or rimworld is a better game to rest, because that's entirely subjective.

Taking into account the time frames, the average Joe out there probably has played a game with that level of graphics. I'm guessing you were born in the 90s. There's just a lot more out there than you remember.

And no one says you can't just play rimworld, we're objecting to you dismissing an entire huge and fun subset of games on the basis that 'text is for nerds'.

i remember playing text based muds when i was like 11 or 12, very first one i ever tried some nerdy girl told me to play on one she and like 20 other people were playing and within 15 minutes i had found a rusty dagger and killed half the server/got banned

but yeah graphics are pretty secondary beyond a basic level, but then again i started with text based muds and atari and we had books and wrote stuff on paper to!

Good to know you are a criminal.

It's actually not subjective at all. DF is simply the superior game.

Whether something is subjective or not is pointless to discuss.

You can call me a criminal but if i went to the town police office and said that i pirated a video game they would just think i came to the wrong place or something.
Thats how much of a crime pirating is where I live.
