The 1% is not the only problem. The problem is that many of the other 99 do not condemn such behavior, support sharia law and generally place themselves against established western order. The guys who were raping women in Cologne probably wouldn't want to blow themselves up - doesn't mean they don't cause problems.

The real percentage you should be looking for are the Muslims who are understanding and accepting of such things as diversity and freedom of choice - these should be indeed welcome anywhere.

Think about it this way - if you have a water stream that is slowly but surely is poisoning your drinking source, wouldn't you want to close it for the time being until you figure out a sensible filtering solution?
