I've read those stats as well. I can't find any concrete opinion from there, since all the countries looks pretty much the same. 50 people more or 50 people less are.. ... a drop in a sea. Does them have any real value?
Stats just say that weapons are used by criminals, and the % of criminals chance slighlty depending on other factors.

This argument about stats looks irrelevan for both party.

If one want to convince me that weapon should be used easier and show me stats, it would not convince me at all.
Same is if someone want to say that less weapons prevent criminality and show me stats.

The difference is if i want to fear my neighrbourn or the government.
Since i have more neightbourn than government, i would prefer if the "bad ones with the weapon" are only criminals and government.
I have other way to defende myself, with usually aren't "shoot him before he shoots you".

I know that america sees in the weapon the "chance to rebel", but since i see that eurpoe rebelled as well in many occasions, have a weapon or don't have it doesn't change it so much. Weapons can be found when one needs them, really easily.
I don't feel harmless at all without a gun, becase all our battle have been fought with gun when gun wasn't used daily.
If i want to rebel, i do it. No need to enrich the gun seller when i don't plan to rebel.

Some people used to use blue for sarcasm but I think maybe you are the only one nowadays, and you can keep doing it if you want. It's not that common though and some people aren't going to know what it means. So, keep that in mind.
