America hasn't been a true beacon of democracy since political parties were formed and allowed to propagate. As long as corporations are allowed to continue funding elections, as long as the 6 counties surrounding Washington DC continue to be the wealthiest in the country, as long as money is left in the hands of private institutions and offshore bank accounts, America will never know true democracy. Trump's rise to power on the backs of disenfranchised poor whites and general xenophobia is sad because, as with Obama and his foundation of minority backing, they will realize his promises are empty. But the belief that this country has any moral superiority that would suggest he is unfit to tout his loud mouthed bigotry while in office is laughable.

Race relations are at an astounding low. A few trigger happy cops are giving the entire uniform a bad reputation, made constantly worse every week. Political events (the death of Justice Scalia, everything surrounding the NSA, Hillary's ongoing investigation and the FBI's recommendation and documented shady ****) allow the public body to not unreasonably doubt even the guise of a fair and just government.

It's all bad.

well not to argue semantics but democracy is not what america was ever supposed to be, a constitutional republic is. and the only thing trump has to do if elected to do a world of good toward slowing the downward spiral for a few more decades is get in and appoint SC justices, his bluster alone whether elected or not has done more good than anyone elected has done in a long time.

under trump the bleeding will stop, immigration which is the weapon of democrats to water down american values will slow, americans will retain their rights as they are (specifically gun rights) and the economy will improve. this does not remotely fix all that is wrong but it is a start in the right direction instead of another nosedive into the abyss like obama.

Not sure why everyone thinks Obama is bad. We are in a much better economic state than we were 8 years ago. And on the immigration issue, sure we need better regulation but this xenophobic stance and Trump's apparent prejudice against Syrian refugees is such a turn off for me.

The whole idea to build a wall is just utter nonsense that will cost billions of dollars that could go towards things that Trump spoke about - Making America the most educated country (lower education costs), securing pensions that were lost, etc

Yeah, but he also said he'd make Mexico pay for it. I don't think Mexico will, so I think he won't try to waste money building a wall.

The wall could also be metaphorical, and that he would increase the efforts more to actually do what needs to be done when people enter the country without permission.
Because let's be honest, building a giant wall in this day and age would increase the world tension too much.

I think he is a extremely weak president who has made this country much much weaker.

Isn't there a huge fence along the border already?
I mean, not that I have any idea, but that's how it's usually portrayed.
I always thought that "build a wall" was metaphor, as in improve border patrol.

There is a fence is certain areas. Most of the boarder is patrolled on foot. Officers are constantly attacked or are hiding from cartels and smugglers. They have a really hard and dangerous job. There is just way too much area to patrol and watch and not nearly enough man power to do it efficiently. Most places you can just swim or walk across a river but you still have to know where you are going since most of the Texas boarders is wilderness.

ok you are just another moron, which is what i said the first time you spoke in support of sanders.

obama like sanders is another communist "wealth redistributing" piece of absolute **** that hates american values and seeks to undermine them and the constitution at every turn, he has sown the division that currently grips the nation by delivering assinine speeches that blame the police for shooting criminals actively engaged in criminal behavior like when he ordered the justice department to do everything they could to railroad the officer that plugged michael brown and is directly responsible for the state of the middle east and the strife creeping into every corner of the globe now that the country is seen as weak and neutered.

if keeping millions of illegal mexican immigrants that aside from boosting democrat voting districts (which is why after decades of this it is now an uphill battle to defeat people like your buddy hillary) even though they are not even citizens do nothing but collect government cheese handouts and destroy our already burdened hospitals that are forced by law to admit them, do not share american values and will not assimilate out does not make sense then you are the definition of the problem, if keeping muslim foreigners out of the country that will never assimilate and actively practice a backwards stone age death cult out is an issue hopefully the next time one detonates themselves in a shopping mall it is in close proximity to you.
