You know that there are different countries that use that base including the turks right? Whats to stop their military from attacking the US side of the base? There are only around 1.5k US airmen on the base. A vast majority of them are not Security Forces and therefore are not in a combat position. You are going to be lucky if over 100 of them are SF.

It's actually something to be worried about for our airmen there. Many of them also live off base.

2nd in NATO not the world.

Sounds more reasonable.

The Turkish military has been more friendly towards the US than Erdogan's administration so its unlikely they will attack US forces. Though something more could be going going on, you never know during a coup.

Actually I don't know about this. Although Erdogan was somewhat supporting the 'Syrian Opposition' the Turkish Military were the ones calling for a Safe, No-Fly zone in Syria for refugees and shutting off military shipping through the Bosphorous for Russian ships. This isn't a clear win for Putin but it isn't a loss.

There is no control by the Turkish military over those nukes and there hasn't been ever. The U.S. military in Turkey has been based there through at least 3 coups in Turkey so I think there's probably a plan in case of this sort of thing.

All that being said, just like in Egypt the Turkish military is a big supporter of the U.S. military because we give them millions if not billions in support and weapons and I doubt that any American has anything to worry about here.

You can see just by the Turks cheering in the streets for the military that this is supported.

Don't forget the Russian jet that was shot down and it's crew brutally murdered. It might not be a win, who knows what type of people will come to power now.
But if i was him it certainly would put a smile on my face as it does to many others in the world and Turkey.
What will be next?

You have never been to this country and have no idea what ***** you just spewed. For the most part the people there like americans until they get pissy. I've had friends and coworkers there when they strike at the BX and attack Americans who try and cross the picket lines to get things they need. You 100% can not trust the people there for the most part.

The Russian jet was shot down by the national air defense which is probably controlled by Erdogan. He was the one who had warned the Russians about cross border fly overs.

As for who knows who would come to power... I do, and I'm guessing most of Turkey and NATO and even Russia would as well. It'll be a group of colonels and officers from somewhat rich families in Istanbul who trace their family history to being in the Armed forces with Ataturk. They'll be non-religious. They'll support NATO and Europe over the Middle-East and they'll have the support of Istanbul and other pockets of liberalism in the country including the Media, the Economic players and the non-religious.

Again, I don't know if this is good for Putin. Erdogan wouldn't support a no-fly zone or a safe zone for Syrians. This may happen now and it'll hurt the Syrian government.

Don't fear the nuke. No one is enough crazy to suicide himself with a nuke attempt. He would be erased from the world with the other 2123498274987 nuke of the nearest countries.
Really dudes.
Stop with this nuke blabling. No one is ever going to use it, and if someone try, he's dead before he can think of use it. Relax!
