Back in the days I was always trained to tap twice in the center of mass (chest area) and then third in the head. Full auto was pretty much restricted. I unloaded a clip with auto once for fun. And it was fun!

Of course. I dunno how effective it would be tho. Those things are living tanks.

im not 100% on alaska hunting regs but i am pretty sure you can actually since it is just a semi auto like any other, the state i used to live in you could hunt with them no problem but you were supposed to use a magazine that had a rod through it so it could not hold more than three rounds to keep it sporting for the animal but yeah wasn't a problem, and if you were hunting on private property you had more leeway depending on the rules at the time.

might have to have one of the .308 ones instead of the regular .223 since most states have a minimum caliber clause in their hunting rules for big game to lessen the chances of retards just wounding the animal and it suffering.

in alaska hardly anyone is going to give a **** if you make a medieval catapult and try to use that (other than telling you how awesome your catapult is =P) long as you are polite and don't bother anyone.

What do you guys think of this finnish rifle? I didn't get to shoot with it in the army but it has been my wet dream ever since.

.338 lapua mag is an ass stomping round with an awesomely flat trajectory, cant remember but i think even some of our spec ops guys use .338 lapua now instead of the .30-06 and .300 win magnum , sako is known here for being a high quality rifle, pretty much impossible to go wrong with one and over here there is literally thousands of aftermarket doodad you can get to make improvements to any aspect of the rifle or just take it down to the local gunsmith and he will do whatever.

.338 lapua on top vs .300 winchester (what i grew up with) on bottom, same average velocity but lapua has almost 50% more weight which translates to a lot more power, .338 will drop moose all day long np.

main thing is you want a good quality scope to go with your rifle and that is usually where the other half of the money is, costing more than the rifle is not uncommon.

Likely wildly inaccurate; but you should log and play Planetside 2... I find the experience of firing different weapon types to be generally realistic. You don't even need to enter the game.. just stay in the test realm for weapon testing.

Certainly a shotgun and a sniper rifle are two different animals depending on the range... for the automatics...ugh... I'm just not that up and up on all the small details.

Only fire-arm I can image playing with would be a barrel loaded shot gun. The up close, personal last resort weapon!

Too many variables/skill requirements for decent, ranged rifle shot unless you are assaulting something equivalent to a deer or less.

Two cents
