Blazing braziers at every tile

Am I building it wrong?

Wiki said about less damage, but I thought that 10 brazziers with low damage much better than 2-4.

I started to doubt after reading some posts: http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8894&start=2410

Well the more you have the greater chance of getting a critical strike on the attacker. Your braziers are not lined-up but neither are mine in my base. You cant have braziers at every tile you must have them one tile apart. It is better to also overlap them with torch posts as they will get critical strikes as well and also shoot further. Either way in my opinion you are doing it right thus far. But someone will probably come and call me an idiot and say I do not know what I am talking about in a minute.

Building braziers up against the wall means you can't repair the wall in the midst of an attack.

Seriously though all towns can be raided. Most just not worth the effort and might take a long time.

Sure can be... but what you say - need time and cost... (alts) :P

and result can be "not worth the effort "

That is not exactly true.

1.) That one tile closer to the wall means more damage, depending on how you set it up.

2.) Ofc you got a pclaim under your town claim, so you can remove the brazier in 2 seconds if it would be really necessary.

[edit:]
After looking at that picture...
You should be aligning the braziers properly to get them closer together, that (your picture) does not just look awful, it is less efficient.
Besides that, assuming the left side is "outside" it looks ok, things done right here:
- put your braziers in pockets
- put a plank wall in front of your brick

That said, 3 tiles in between brick walls is bold, it will likely not splash that far, but if RNG is against you, that would be really bad.

From your picture- I wonder how old the town is...

Defense rules/placement have changed over time. Specifically the distance between braziers, etc... I suppose that's the reason they are so slipshod in alignment.

You will find towns that are 10x better than you will ever be able to duplicate (nor will the owners for just that reason). Don't be discouraged... or at least try not to be!
