The thing is, my country had a long history battling muslims and i honestly do not hold any love for them.
I do not mind educated, secular muslims because i think they are pretty distant from 'holy teachings of Kuran' but again, how many of them are out there?
Just ask yourself, how many nobel prize winers you have seen that are muslims? What is the reason behind it?
From the staggering number of over 800 Nobel prize winner only 12 of them were muslims. The fact that muslims make up 23% of total populus on Earth is mindblowing.
It is a shame when people hold seemingly arbitrary manuscript on such a pedestal just because it is a 'word sent from a god' or a prophet in this case.I am a christian, i believe in a higher power and i respect traditions... But i do not turn the blind eye on the scientific facts of evolution, i do not believe that praying will heal me or ones close to me.
Progress of science should be followed by expanding ones limits in all aspects of human life. That is the one fact that people in mostly islamic countries lack. They lack freedom from Kuran restraints, they lack freedom of their own choice that is not dictated by their surroundigs.
Arab world had an 'Golden Arab age' from 9th to 13th century. Then, Arabs were translating every book known to man, they had the most known physicians in the world,they gave us modern algebra and many other things in astronomy, medicine, agroculture ..
You could debate that most of the basics were layed by Greeks but just becausethey used a spark and made it into a bright flame does not diminishes their efforts.
With one sunnite ruller in the 13th century started the decline of science and religion started picking up the steam. I forgot the name of the ruller but he forbade most of the scientific things proclaiming algrebra being evil and witchcraftery burning books and other things. He made people of that age dumber with generations to come... And we all know that uneducated, ignorant people are easy to rule.
Muhhamads teaching started being implemented in all the aspects of an average muslims life and we all can be the judges how that turned out to be.

That person did not atacked those people because of the goverment policy. He atacked them because they were homosexuals and like we all know islam is super tolerant to gay people.
