HOW TO ADD FRIEND?

I have looked on the wiki. The FAQ. The Forums... and I still can figure out how to add a friend. There is either nothing or i follow the steps and it doesnt work. Someone please help?

Firstly, open the friend Buddy meny by pressin the icon or with CTRL+B .
Then your friend has to put a homestead secret under 'my homestead secret' and after that you to type in that same homestead secret ( HS ) in 'Make kin by homestead ' option.
And its done.

meet in providence and right click character, memorize - > make kin
alternatevly use homestead secrets as suggested already
