My Building disapear?!?!

Ok i waste all the weekend searching feathers, diging holes for clay and bla bla.
I started to build the forje, i want to make some iron,
but wat happend??? i put 2 iron bars, 2 iron nails, 30 bricks and i logued out
when i relog today all of this disapear.
there is no construction sign!
and not i dont get raided, i have all my chests intact with alot of food and materials, the only things is that, the metal forje disapear !! wat im going to do now ? farm 22 feathers again? really? again? im no a pro, im not the best player, im a completly newbie and i play with my brother and gf, we like alot the game but this is unfair...i waste alot of my time to get that stuff..

Did you partially build the building? Or just put in the materials?

I heard you have to actually build part of the building (meaning you can't pull the items back out) or they will slowly decay away until none are left.

That was done so that people couldn't store materials in buildings they never planned to build.

For example, you could store 2000 rubble/stone, 1000 granite, 250 bricks, 10 oiled boards, 120 planed boards, 75 nails, 12 glass panes, and 5 cross-shaped wood splinters in the footprint of a Town Church and just pull the material out whenever you wanted it. So, if you don't build the materials into the building, they will evaporate into nowhere.

That's just what I've heard. Never tried it.

yes i knowed that, i build the most important parts, the iron bars, the iron nails and bricks, the other stuff i put a few rocks to keep the sign and i dont have problema with the rocks falling of the sign, but the iron bars, nails and bricks was builded, for that i think is a bug, im searching again feathers i cant solve things like that, next time i will put all the materials in the same time to build it in one time and dont let this happend again, im going to waste all my weekend again

Structures decay if not on the claimed land or inside the mine. IF the structure is finished it will get some damage and change colour but its still functional. If the structure is not finished, the decay damage is realised by subtracting resources from the build-sign.
