Locating ancestor's body

My friend's character died during the Blood Moon that just transpired, and we set aside the body so that she could pick it up after making a coffin. We can't seem to find the body anymore, however, even with my mini map detailing her color and being able to see her name. Granted this was before I kin-ed her new character. If anything I should be able to find the skeleton as it hasn't been that long yet.

Possible reasons: necrophiliacs, witches, lack of knowledge on body decay, bugs, sea otters, ect.

Can I have some enlightenment on this matter please?

If you left it out in the open someone probably stole it and will use it to preform witchcraft on her descendants.

Oh noes! I wonder why that body out of any other one that would have been significantly easier to acquire. Hmm, Well ok thanks.

A townmate transported a body that he saw to our base a few days ago (with some clothes on it), maybe the same thing happened with your friend's body
