Focus on activities forbidden in other countries

DeepSixed. Have you really focused on that?

Let's compare it to Italy.

Freedom of Speech - V
Freedom of Travel the number of states of the federation (Europe). V
Freedom of Religion - V
Freedom to bear arms - V with laws. You just need to take a course to get a license. My dad had it, and my boy dad have it too.
Freedom to be a lazy piece of **** - V

At a first sight, seems that your freedom aren't nothing special or unique. All depends on HOW this freedom is protected and used, but this changes a lot between single countries into the same Usa. You can expect a few differences here and there.
About the freedom to speech, here all the newspapers are totally free to say **** about elected dudes. They simply don't do it 'cuz those peoples gives them more money than others. No one is forced to write bad things or good things for money, but actually no one have a backup to avoid doing it. Also, people loves to buy certain things and hates others, so newspaper just sell them what they know will be bought.
No one will ever write that "korea is good", since no one would buy the newspaper then.
Ther's no freedom of speech, even when there is, 'cuz people needs to eat and needs money in order to do so.

Freedom.
But freedom alone is synonymous of "abandoned", and there the freedom die under reality and facts.

On the paper and on your description, America is the same as the other countries.

I just want to point out that the "freedom" pride of America is like be proud of have hot water. Yes. Cool. But that's not the main identity of Usa, or actually it isn't when we looks at fact.
To make it clear, i don't think Usa are a prison and i'm not saying this.
I just think that the Freedom worshipping is so bright that it blinds everybody that looks at it like if it's something "special and unique". And they don't look over it, focusing on other main things.

If i think Usa, i think a lot of people talking about Freedom, but then you can choose between only two mayor party. That's weird as hell. Then less than half of the population doesn't vote at all. That's actually a bit too much freedom if you can ignore the place where you live on. But vote the same two party for ages can become quite boring, so well...
Then i see big companies cheating the Usa legally, creating their headquarters slightly out the Usa, but getting all the Usa advantages with less taxes. And Usa have to keep the freedom market, so can't make laws to prevent this daily raiding of your moneys. All he can do is "ask for some agreement with the company", even if it's a whole State talking with a Company. Since when government is under a company will? Oh well. Freedom to be money puppets.
This won't effect your daily life, for now, because Usa have A LOT of land to exploit, and land means economy, and economy means that it can replace all the badly planned freedom things with money coming from elsewhere.

You know what?
That's not new, not old. That's just how the world works pretty much everywhere. What just surprise me is that i have to say this. YOU are supposed to say this to me, not me to you, since is the land where you all lives. So you are supposed to be interested in this, but all i see is the worship of a word that have anything special, compared to our regular freedom that we just call civil rights.

We are giving our opinion about a colorful lid with written "freedom" on it, completely ignoring what's inside the jar. Won't you share what you see in the jar, instead?

And i can easily link your part in that page, where most of the internet censorship are coming from Usa, or quote how USA censors other countries opinions.
That was a water pistol shot, honestly.

Are you sure you really want to watch that jar without open it for all the life?

You can have a law that gives you the freedom to be naked.
...And well? Have it any relevance?
Is you using your "freedom to speech" to talk about things no one agrees on? For example, have you ever studied the "bad part of the world" to see what's that for real?
Let's try to say something that NOBODY can agree with.

North Korea is Good.

No one can trust me. No one ever read anything not coming from a western book. So no wonder why everybody things just the same thing, even when there's freedom.
'Cuz freedom, when not fulfilled, is nothing.

I'd like to know what's over the West propaganda line, but since every information comes from Usa services, i have to wait 'till this censorship (that is simply monopoly of informations) will somehow end.

So.
I'd like to open the jar and talk about a country that IS a piece of solid land, money and rules and see what you see in it. Not really liking to see dreamers defending a painted flag, because flags and words and unused laws are just empty and have not concrete conseguences to the reality.

The whole point of freedom is choice and options. Saying "I have freedom of speech (as long as I don't criticize the protected classes)" isn't freedom, it's being owned. If you like being lorded over that is fine, but don't pretend that you have freedom when it isn't the case. What does it matter if YOU don't find it useful to be able to say what you wish, others probably won't agree with you, especially those couple of people in Germany being tried by the government for saying erdogan ***** goats.

So, the whole huge country of Usa is only one word and nothing else, for you?
You can repeat that over and over and over, the same word, like a loop, but that's not an identity.

What will happens when everybody will have EXACTLY the same laws as you so that you can't keep this argument?
Usa disappears from the world?

Obviously not. Usa aren't just a single word.
There's nothing else you can tell about your country? The freedom stuff is quite a small piece and more than 80% of it is a just standard common sense.
Even if you'll point out every single law in Italy about any form of censorship, you'll never be able to cover more than a 10% of the freedom active rules here and there.

What i'm interested on is to know if you know something more about your country. Bad or good, just show me that a word is not enough to satisfy you and that you know more than it.

It really seems like it's one word and nothing else for YOU.

The Bill of Rights wasn't born in a vacuum. It was created and appended to the constitution specifically because a lot of the European countries of that time severely limited those rights in their citizens and the people making the laws for our new country wanted to be sure that that didn't happen again here. Over time, a lot of the laws in Europe have evolved and changed to be much more like the ones we already have, but you know it's not all quite the same, right? Your laws had to be rewritten to allow you the same freedoms we wrote into our government from the start. I think we can justifiably be a bit proud of having gotten it right the first time well enough that a fair sized segment of the world has spent the last couple centuries slowly emulating us. But very few people are as rabid about the subject as you seem to think.

In short, other countries that have been around for a hell of a long time slowly becoming more like a country that has only been around for a very short time comparatively, and some people in those fairly ancient countries are not happy about it.
On a related note, this thread seems to have become a place for my friend here to rail against the US to the Salem community instead of railing against the US to me. As your friend flame, I feel it's good that you get input from many people instead of just one person. As you said, I am not indicative of the entire united states.
Still up for Zomboid or Ultima later flame? ;)

I've been playing MMOs since 1998, and Salem has the strangest community I've ever seen. It's not even close.
