Digging/Archeology ?

I recently got back into the game after taking a decent break.
I had heard a lot of talk about getting the digging artifacts back into play before I left, heard some talk of archaeology and stuff.
Now I am under the understanding that JC is gone for a bit of real life stuff (god I hate that game), but did we ever land on a firm "yes we'll make this happen" ? or is it kinda like "meh" we'll get it whenever we get it? now again, I've been gone for a bit, there might have been a post addressing this issue, which i was not able to find, so I'm just asking you guys on here instead.

Are we going to see "soil digging" any time soon? like before Christmas?

I'm not sure what order John will want to put in the next few mechanics so I can't say how long it'll be before we get archaeology, but I know it's something we do want to add. It's also something we could use some good ideas for, I think. It was going to be something to do with finding various pieces of things and being able to assemble them into a complete structure like a fossil skeleton or ceramic vase or some such.

In my experience, if you roast the grubs and study the rusty coins, you'll never gain a level, unless you get a bunch back to back.

Hey I'd love to have a digging set! finding all the treasure, or atleast digging faster, or getting less madness. I'm sure the devs will come up with some feature, but I might never dig again after this </3 hehe, joking aside digging can be fun
