hey guys
ive never had a dog in my life, but as im done with college soon and the summer is coming i figured ill have time to get one, i was thinking of buying a small Chihuahua or a Teacup pomeranian (see pic)

problem is i dont know much about dogs , ive asked a lot of dog owners, ive read a lot about it etc but i still cant make a choice yet. lots of people say its better to get a puppy, because u can raise them yourself and that apparently the relationship created between the pet and its owner is stronger the younger you get it, is that true? i fear that if i buy a puppy i wont be good enough to teach her how to behave and i"d like to have a tidy pet, how hard is it, does it depends on the race or its character or mainly how good you are at it?

also , depending on the country you live in, it probably has a different name depending on where u live, but i believe it exist in any country: there are some kind of associations that save pets from the streets, are allowed to take away dogs from people if too many people complain about the owner (dog abuse etc). so in most towns u have a place like this where homeless dogs live, and some people take care of them for free, and then sell them, pets of any age. some of them have been abuse, beaten by their owner, or some just were abadoned, each animal for sale has its own story/past written on the website and u can go and visit to see if you'd like buy it. i was wondering if getting a dog in this kind of association was a better idea than getting a puppet in an animal shop or a doghusbandry? i dont think id like a dog that has been beaten as it'd probably always be afraid of me etc, but i was thinking of maybe one whose owner just didndt have time to take care of maybe. but at the same time, how much can i really trust what they tell me about the dogs and what they wrote about it anyway?
as dog owner does anyone of you have any good advice about buying dogs?
do u think the temper, dog's character is mostly gonna depend on his race or the dog itself and how it grew up?

I bought my dog from a breeder, though parts of me really wanted to adopt one, and i may in the future.

My best advice to you would be match the breed to your life style. If you are out and about a lot, or outdoorsy get a high energy dog. If you work a lot or like to live a mostly idle lifestyle get a low energy dog. Dosnt matter how much you train, if you have a high energy dog and no time to exercise it, that dog evolves into a tornado, a hurricane of destruction!

I also had a lap dog (small dog) in the past, they are the most affectionate and loyal dogs, BUT when it comes to being active or going to the park to play ball or hiking, well they are not the most ideal for that.

All that being said, dogs are the best, loyal friends great for protection and a blast to have! I hope this helps and good luck! Let us know what you choose!:)

well yeah im looking a little dog, that is fine living inside a house/condo (indoor dog), such as the ones i listed above, but i heard even little dogs can damage your furniture, apparently it depends on how bellbehaved they are. not sure how u teach a dog not to bite your sofa though ^_^
i had a hamster, and when i'd be streaming or playing whatevrr games online for a couple hours , id let her walk and play on my big desk, but she twice ate my mouse cable which cost me +250$, i was so upset about it but then i looked at her and figured she didnt mean to do that , so i couldnt punish her to make her understand, itd just break my heart coz she was so small and cute looking lol, i guess when ur dog destroy smth it must feel the same way, they seem so innocent lol with their big eyes staring at u =/
