Poor bastard. Anyways, first you gotta turn on tracking and pick up evidence from the scents. You'll need 500s to send said thief into the stocks.
Alternatively, if you really want the thief to be killed, you'll need somebody like a vigilante willing to do it, or you can do it yourself. From the scents you can track the thief, stolen items and homestead.

if you kill the thief yourself you will drop a murder scent which can in turn get you killed, so really stocks are best option although the thief can use a small portion of what they stole from you to buy their way out of the stocks so really there is no real justice you can seek.

The Criminal was dealt with ;) i guess he is simply bileing up the next one with what he stole from me but at least it wasn't all for free... and he taught me a valuable lesson or two.

Could you tell me, how long does it take for a criminal to respawn, if he was knocked out on a claim?

How do I actually put someone to stocks? I've got robbed and I have some silver in bank.

You go to the Judge looking guy next to the stocks and right click him. Should cost about 500s. Do it at prime hours or when you know the person won't be on for maximum damage to them from whipping and thrown food.

I right clicked him, selected an option "request judgement" or something, cursor turned into a hammer or something. I clicked evidence of vandalism, this costed me exactly 500s. And .... nothing.

It seems that now I can use that evidence on stocks - there's an option "humilate" - but I'm getting a message that "criminal was in stocks in last 24 hours".

Anyway it worked now.
