Is a nearby lime node still kinda required?

Postby SuchWowe » Fri Apr 08, 2016 12:54 am

I've played in a while, and I might return.

Additional question, would it be better if I join a group or played alone?

Still kind-of needed.

Also, depends purely on you.

hello suchwowe

lime is good but not necessary, at some point u'll run out of it anyways and you'll have to just port it or go far away

i dont understand what u mean by 'better'. have u ever tried both living with people and alone?

Setting up a 75-100 humors alt with Packrat near a big lime area is quite easy to do and all you need for a good lime supply.

As you look for a place to settle there are many factors to consider, I'd say having a nearby lime pit is one of them but I like to err on the side of simplicity. It's not a make-or-break factor, but between two roughly similar bases, one with a nice and large lime pit a minute or two away is definitely better.

Also make sure not to settle too close or it'll screw your walls up. Plan for it to be outside of all your walls.

my advice is play alone or with a person that is your REAL FRIEND . if you live with people you cabt trust 100% you wont ewer be able to debase silver , make poisons, you can loose all your stuff etc.

for me a lime pit in the vicinity is definitely a big minus. You'll eventually be porting in all your lime anyway, but with a lime pit nearby your expansions are limited.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

What does porting it mean?

have two of your alts meet in providence, and exchange the materials (from your lime alt to your main character) there.

So if you have some months playing its no big deal but for a starting new account I would definitely recommend lime + water near, specially if you will hunt and mine early in the game.
