You still cry about the same crap

ROFL- the more you cry out my name- the more fuel you give me to speak my mind!

Doesn't matter in the end- game is dying. Population is dying off. Yeah there are newbies in Planters looking for bunks but they are either dead rertunies or newbs .... days from quitting.

As my own town Mayor who's destroyed three town leantos for players who absolutely disappeared and haven't logged a day in 3 weeks, nor TS, nor a sign in Town, or another else... I know for myself there are more dropping out than sicking around.

Oh- and they didn't rape me blind before they just absolutely disappeared. I had a chest full a store bought tools readily accessible... 3-5 clothing sets to 300's, etc... and still folks are logging out forever because the game seemingly has no future. Two returned all the newbie box kits they hadn't used before bailing completely. Hardly your avg turn=coat... No even they as fresh as they are can see they way **** is going... and I can't argue them back in the game. JC needs to get his head out of his ass... or the game is done.

I remember making this same argument when Star Citizen was a dream... and now it's in Alpha... and Desert Storm is live...and there are other games.

Exactly what niche of the gaming world does Salem absolutely control anymore?!

I have some little bit invested and I like the chores somewhat... but I'm the exception.

just asking.. mostly!~

Fix -

1. Admit Pophm was a mistake and end it now. Honor what commitments you can and bring over animals to Providence. New content might bring back other players.

2. Restore the raiding system to what it was or some margin of what it was.

3. Offer more users access to the test server. Might as well be the overworld, dreamworld, or some other world for all purposes vs what the 'real' world is like. That's go to change.

Fail to do 2/3 of these and your boast the game can exist forever w/o a single dollar and constant game updates will be put to the test... and you'll have a dwindling population to boot. Folks that move on to Star Citizen and other Salem-like games are going to drop them for new updates. The time to sink the hook is now... not later.

2008. "WoW is dead."
2009. "WoW is soo dying."
2010. "WoW is dead!"
2011. "Oh man, WoW is gonna be dead next year."
2012. "WoW is dead.
2013. "Man, this expansion was really bad and killed the game."
2014. "WoW has died."
2015. "WoW is dead, guys!"
2016. "Alright guys, this time it'll be dead. For real."

Seriously, the "points" he makes are ridiculous, stupid and laughable. Star Citizen's a Salem-like game? Last I checked, that game was set in space, in spaceships with pewpew action and other spacey-things. Also, you believe that the things you want are the same as a majority's, adding to your already pretentious and whiny attitude.

Your choice of games is fantastic... Yes- Salem is the new Wow... and everyone love Wow.

Please share this around... no doubt about it... everyone will stick around for more Wow.

Comparing this game to Wow... is just Wow- how ***** stupid are you?!

Are did you even bother to read the reply or are you just naturally bigotted and stupid?

Isn't it past your bed time? Tomorrow is a school night.

Idiot

Simple, I was making a point of how a neighsayer like yourself would be wrong about a game dying when it quite clearly has a community that isn't going into decline.
Also, I do find it very ironic that you call me an idiot.

That you don't have the necessary experience, history, or knowledge if 'INDIE' games to appreciate the current circumstance is your problem.

( Wow with its 20-50 devs... and Salem with its 1-2 devs.. was a very poor comparison; the genre... Salem isn't the only permadeath Sandbox on the market anymore... it's F2P you say... well...that didn't stop me from spending cash and look how big my town is now?!... why would I shy from other games? Black Desert and others are F2P as well and boast similar death situations. Salem is permadeath...and exactly how much of that is going on these past few months asshat... please do share!

The very things that you would point out that would make Salem different- have been entirely absent from current gameplay for a number of months... like the time for new players to realize all the vets are full or **** or the devs are and they better off plying something that's really PVP or otherwise?!

Educate yourself... or don't.

I saved all my post to Word... if I'm banned... they will come around again when I'm not, etc.

All good arguments!

In an attempt to get this thread back on course. Part of what has had me having some fun with this patch was we got some technology in that allows us to do custom things to your characters periodically depending on what kind of tile and what world your character is in at the time.

Feel free to throw any suggestions you may have for us regarding this fun thing.

I never compared WoW to Salem, I was comparing the "This game is dead" people with you. You compared Star Citizen to Salem-like games, by saying that if that game came out when the playerbase would move to it. Obvious exception are the ones that are actually interested in that game, duh. But to say that the playerbase of Salem would move on to Star Citizen is stupid, when they're not even remotely similair.

Also, I apologize for not being a hipster vested in the indie scene, when I can play something that's been established and has stuck around for a while now? I never said anything about free to play models, but whatever, with the **** you post most of the time, I wouldn't be suprised if you were higher than a kite.

On the permadeath, obvious example is Providence. It's lined with skeletons and corpses, but if you insist, I can always kill you and take your stuff that you clearly don't have a use for.

Cool to hear, I'm guessing from the what I assume is a wig item that character (re)customization is starting to become a thing?
Also, could there be a fullscreen mode of some sort? That'd be really helpful for streaming the game.

Since it looks like there's more of a reason to spend some time in the snow, maybe some cold effects on the character? Some ideas:

- getting KO'd in the snow is permadeath ¦]
- frostbite lowers your yb and slows you down, kind of similar to broken leg... Being near a fire or holding a torch undebuffs this and prevents it from happening
- visibility distance (the distance you can see objects on the ground and such) is reduced when in the snow, and/or there are snowstorms that cause this more severely
- movement in the snow without special snowshoes is reduced to walking speed

Obviously with disadvantages like this it would follow that there would be some very nice things to find in snow biomes, maybe the forageables which were previously nerfed could be buffed back up. Would be cool if there were yettis or something like that to make reduced visibility and possible permadeath risks more exciting.

Oh, also, for newbies...

- walking onto a badlands/crag tile warns them about the dangers
- walking onto a game trail warns them about the dangers
- walking onto shallow water gives them some info about water dynamics (need to swim across deep water, dropping things in water makes them sink, etc)

Maybe even walking onto a biome for the first time gives them some information about that biome... But that's probably overboard.

I know it's more fun to let them find out, lol, but given that there's already precedence for tooltips like this (darkness, disease, etc) I figured I'd throw it out there.
