When animal ko's u but don't kills

Before throw any suggestion in the suggestion throwing hole, where more deep suggestions are suggest---
Okay. Sorry. Kiddin'

Basically, what i wanna ask/discuss is the fact that permakill can't be "achieved" in providence (ignoring a few ways).
I'm one of those carebe-- carebear? Flame, you should not use words you can't spell...!

I'M a soft-player and i didn't liked permadeath system in H&H. It was largely "abused" by players, by bugs. Or so i felt it for various un-balancing matters.
But yet, a survival crafting game have carnivores beasts, and i miss the fear of a bear, or of a cougar. They actually attacks you and it's just an issue, not really a problem or a danger. More a boring fact that you'll loose your items, wich can drive mad someone with frustation (me too) but nothing really exciting or challenging.

Salem Battle System permits to run, dodge and lastly, flee with swimming. Bears are more dangerous, but also a lot more visible. Also, beasts makes sounds quite often.
With all of this details, you can have a fair battle against the animals. The cougar, the bear, should have the chance to kill me, if i risk too muchm. Should have the will to do it, IF they want. Not a 100% possibility, but at least the risk that they wounds you mortally or decide that they hates you that bad!

Hunt is one of the main activity in a survival crafting game, and also the place where players and game can fight each other in a fair battleground, called Personal Skill.
When i realized that no animal can Kill you, i've lost interest in go hunting. Is almost a merely farming process, where you go, hit, flee, go, hit flee, ops i've lost, who cares, go hit flee. I go hunting when i need meat with the same attitude i go to supermarket. XD

I think the dark Beasts can kill you, maybe, but the step and the time i need to be able to fight a dark beast, is biiiig. It could ask me a full year or more to feel myself able to fight a dark beast.
The early (and middle) game lacks the challenge in hunting.

Now that you know the story of my life ( lol ), all i want too know is if there are other Soft-Players that feels the lack of a fair danger when hunting evil beasts. This have nothing to do with raiders and fights between players, so it should be more interesting to all those people that carefully avoid the fight with raiders, but yet likes the challenge of a survival videogame.

Good lunch to me, and to you! Lemme know what do u think!

When I first came to Salem (coming from H&H) and I heard a bear roar, I panicked and ran away. Then I found out that bears won't kill you in Salem and I was relieved, I must say bears causing permadeath isn't something I have missed so far.
There are plenty of ways to die permanently other than through another player's hand or darkness monsters.
You could go and hunt during bloodmoon if that's the kind of risk you want to take.

Complaining about hunting in the light being too easy but at the same time being unwilling to seek excitement in killing darkness kritters doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

I go out to hunt when I need animal product, too, what's wrong with that?
Jesus died for our sins. You should do the same.

Current death rate of darkness animals are too low by far atm also. I do not agree that the normal animals should kill you, perhaps a harsher setback due to the fact that characters get progressively better but even that is debatable because people can just hunt with alts. In those cases, perhaps make it cause a perma bile damage like the stocks.

What is the rate? I wasn't aware it was common knowledge, please share your data. Then the discussion is on an even playing field.

Oh and darkness creatures can kill regardless of tricks, just a higher chance. I once had an alt running around, Hydrukey, aggroed, charged and killed on first hit. Was a lowbie, but still a death.

Shh flame shh, think about what you are suggesting! Remember that you used to get knocked out by cougars all the time. Remember that one time we had that bear at your gate? Or all the times we barely managed to get the gate closed just as those big cats were barreling down our walkway towards us? That bear encounter would have ended in tragedy for our nubly characters back then with this kind of system.

Hmmm.... So it seems due to popular demand I should evaluate more permadeath mechanics?

NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE FLAME!
But seriously, I thought about it, and now I actually sort of agree with flame. There should be a little risk in hunting bears at least. Bears will mess you up man.

with animals now viable on the mini map for all players I think upping the danger on the predators would be good. Bears in particular tend to give plenty of warning before you are close enough to enrage them. Cougars are a little harder due to their aggro range.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
