Definitely not the direction we want to go at the moment.

As much as i like helping a new player this post annoyed me.
A) the Master key is a MASTER key. It only opens locks attuned to locks attuned to that Key or the copies of it.
B) Master copies are essentially the same as the master key. Hand theese to your alts for safe keeping.
C) The slave copies are essentially the same as master key with some restrictions. You cant swap locks with a slave key for instance. The reason you get 6 copies of keys is simple. 1 iron bar isnt just 1 or 2 small keys.
There is no Skeleton keys. Be happy because if so Raiders would have them and come visit everyone they wish.
You can only copy Master key & its Master copies not slave keys.
Also this is a MMO. Yes Towns are favored.
Fidgety wrote:So, I went to craft a slave key, same thing, only it creates 6 copies of the key in question when the ingredients are made. So for my 2 gate keys, I can get 6 copies each when I only need 1. Seems a bit in favour of people with towns imo.

Fidgety wrote:Also, is a master key able to copy multiple keys? Like a skeleton key, if you know what that means. It will open multiple locks? So I would in fact only need 1 master key to open my 2 gates with different locks on.

Because the slave keys are not meant for an hermit. It's for town citizen usage.Fidgety wrote:I don't want 2 spare master keys so that was a bit stupid.
Actually you do. The keys that you want on all of your chars are exactly those "spare mater keys".Fidgety wrote:and only keep slave keys on you
There is no reason to do that if you're the owner of your claim. There is no downside about using a master key on you. It can't be used for anything by a griefer if it's stolen.Fidgety wrote:Also, is a master key able to copy multiple keys? Like a skeleton key, if you know what that means. No. But I don't know why would someone want to have different keys for some of his doors.
It's more simple than you think :
Just copy your master key to give one to each of your characters. Forget about slave ones.

The question in itself didnt annoy me. The way you could only think about things in a self-centered manner annoyed me.

Yes.Fidgety wrote:Or can i create a new normal key for the process? Then you take the new master key that's created and right click it on the key you want copying.
No the copy process do not work by right clicking.
So :
- Use this recipe only one time. At least in your case, do not create multiple of theses.
- Then make those as much as needed. For the recipe you've to use a key attuned to you indeed (name is green).
- Before putting a lock on a door make sure you right click your key on the lock.
