about borderstones

how far away from a town claim can a borderstone be?
does it have to be connected to the bell in some way?

Border stones can be as far as you wish, they however do have to be connected with another border stone or the townclaim in order to be made. You can remove the unnessesary borderstones afterwards tho, as they cover part of the same ground.

Also they can be destroyed by raiders, make sure they are walled
