I didn't find anything related to this, and was wondering whether this is natural and intentional, or just an unintended sideeffect (aka. bug) in terrain generation:
I am building my first home close to the shore, and spend a lot of time in that area. I noticed that for some reason there is a thin strip between the shore and the shallow water where the water is deep, and you need swimming to cross it. There are some places where you can cross it, but it seems that most of the area is like that.
