No the house is part of the claim. He will be trapped in the house when he logs on. He will have to turn crime on to exit the house. You could build a small wall around the house. So if he does leave the house he will be trapped in the walled area. Then put a torch post on the outside of it. Even if he brings a character to help himself you will be able to collect the waste scents.

Cannot port because on someone elses claim even without having the crime debuff. Any other moves would require criminal acts to be turned on.

Don't you have the option to port back to town while losing your inventory if you sign on to being inside a claim?

No, that's only if the spot is occupied, as in an object is taking up that tile.

You will also only port back to town in the event that you do not have a claim.

For example. If you leave the game for 2 months and your pclaim goes unpaid. A person breaks in and destroys the claim. They place a claim over your leanto. They find a bed in your mine. They destroy the bed and place a stone on the spot. When the you log back on you will be notified your location is unavailable and you must spawn at your leanto. They now have you trapped and you are as good a scalped.

but no one really cares about scalping someone who cant even pay their claim, unless ofc they took over their place and kept cheking daily for the owner's return
