I am confused now, who am I supposed to feel bad for, and who should burn in the fires of righteous retribution?

I somewhat don't believe the dev now after seeing this. Looks like he tried to get the hype going 1st to get everyone on his side/

pretty sure the proper response is to not give a **** either way about a bunch of retards bickering with each other and to not be stupid enough to give money via crowdfunding handout websites to ***** that are not viable enough to find traditional funding.

My best ideas for Salem came while drunk. And strippers are quite simply good for morale in all cases.

All I see here is solid growth investments by two team members and a whiny programmer who got rejected by the strippers when he told her he liked her heap dumps so now he is complaining about it.

P.S. This reminds me. Salem needs ants. What should ants do in Salem? Ideas?

HNH DID IT FIRST

Having random ant mounds spawn in the wilderness could be a nice way to get new inspirations and low level foods into the bug category.

Build annoying hills and attack pilgrims who come too close. Also you could let us pour molten metal in them to get ant hill molds. Maybe those molds can be a new kind of inspirational.
:D

They should overrun abandoned mines and build huge hives there, and then randomly spawn / attack pilgrims in some radius from those mines until someone clears the hives

They should obviously be annoying and drive people crazy, this is Salem we're talking about.

Few quick ideas for what they could do:

1) Crawl in shoes and make your character jump every now and then. If you don't take your shoes off to shake them out in time they would crawl up in your pants and you don't want that to happen.
2) Build hills on your fields and ruin them by lowering plenty to 20%
3) Ruin food that is in an inappropriate container (table outside, logs, etc.) turning it to ants infested food, which you don't want to eat unless you're mad.
4) and ofcourse they should give you itchy bites on every occasion.

I like the idea of have annoying ants and not killer ants like in H&H.
But also, i would like the idea of fight killer ants in the darkness, or face the danger when i'm smashing an ant hill instead of handle it in some other way. A reward, if you attempt to win the battle or an intoxicated status if you loose (from breathing too much acid).
Ants are also used to give an acid taste to some kind of foods but i'm not sure it's historically accurate.

Ants can be derailed with a line of salt on the ground. Ant hill, once spawned, should be a semi-permanent thing that will not despawn by simply logging off. With salt or other things, you can shut-down an ant hill problem for a while.
With the change of season, ant hills can despawn. They also change the type of food they search for.

Ants, in real, can ruin fruit trees and other fruit plants, by adding to them the plant lice and getting the sugar from them. (What an hassle...)

Considering the annoyance ants could potentially bring, i suggest a low percentage nice reward for who destroy theyr nest and a low percentage of find a killer ant.

We need aggressive colonising ants. They should, if left un-defeated spawn a new hive around them based on some algorithm. If left to spread too close to structures, consume food from containers, break walls slowly (i have fixed houses with ants so deep in the wall that they turned the cement to dust in their effort to burrow). Obviously have some sort of poison debuff that needs to be treated, and that perhaps slows down the activity related to the random spot you got bit. Bit your toe? Walk slower. Bit your hand as you try to swat them away? Craft / do stuff slower. Other sensitive spot? Too unfocused to study at regular speed :D Bit trollsy of a suggestion though and not sure it'd have a meaningful place along with other mechanics.
Exactly 6.022 x 10^23 worth of Lach molecules.
