Kiln Drying

Here's a thought, since I was just at the lumber store today for a project at the house...

most lumber today is treated and/or kiln dried.

What about an option to kiln dry boards in smaller batches than a big board pile that takes 5 full days?

+1, maybe with a very long firing time (24 hours?) and very high chance for the boards to get burned up into nothing making drying boards on piles a much more efficient strategy except in the case where you really need 5 dry boards.

Devil's advocate - It is nice though that the 5-day-only mechanic forces people to trade when they run out.

Yea, not efficient enough to make a board pile useless.

I definitely like the idea of them possibly burning up though!

Maybe like they have to be fired for a full 100% kiln burn?

I don't think kiln drying wood was done in the 17th century. It is a fairly industrial practice.
