you are making a system in which people are going to feel that they need to pay for this or they will miss out, which is true. It's simply not good.

I see nothing wrong with that. Incentive to donate to a game we play for free is not bad, and they will still be able to play the full game as it is now, with no changes to gameplay.

Never would be not a good way, but i could imagine to transform the Dev-Events to another stage.
How i mean this? Simple... they should (role)play out the Majestic thing in Providence.
Means they make events for audience the majestic highness.
A little bit like this Santa Marp Event.

I agree absolutely!
But there are some limitations for us player:
- We can not place/change things in Providence.
- We can not moderate Events.
Means per example, we cannot prevent later entrance to Dockclub, because we can not close doors. And we can not take out KOed people, so that every match would result in a permadeath match.
Starting events ouside of Providence would cause similar issues, although we could build some structures for event, but i'm sure we would have at least one disturbing group at every event.
I can list more, but i think it's clear what i want to say.
Solving these problem would be, that JC&Marp give some special player the ability to use Dev-Commands only in Providence City. But i think then both have the problem, to decide who is genuine with this right. Not an easy decision.

Otherwise we can always start player events in all directions where no change in World is needed.
Just it needed some planing and timely announcment.

We can do it... but i guess with our community it would end up in a big chaos and the event manager would do it maybe twice and then he/she will decide to leave it.

But perhaps I am mistaken in our community skills and every salem player will be happy about player made events and will participate the event without to disturb.

Salem Membership Subscription

The proposal of the OP don't fit in the Salem System of Free to Play and donate Dev's with Shop Items.
I think we should not have a real difference between paying and not paying people.
Some of salem player have not much real money, but they play much and give the game a special touch.
They are able to get the same benefits by paying the customer player with ingame silver.
You would exclude this important player with your system.

Like I stated before, the membership could be an ingame item ticket that can be traded, aka it could be bought ingame by people who can afford it

So sad so few people remember the roanoke candy arena, where it all started.
That proved that it was possible to organize a player-based and organized fight club.
Even if most everyone fought just with alts, it was still loads of fun.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Oh... that i have overread i think.
But why then you need a monthly fee?
I guess they got much more money with this 40$ per quarter to get the cloak.
Means, every people who spent money in the Item-Shop decide to spent enough to get that cloak.
So with your system the devs would not have more benefit from paying people, but have more work with it.
And you will never push player who not spending real money yet to do it with an subscription... especially not, if you can buy this subscription benefits with an ingame item.

It makes just no sense.

Basically a player would buy with real money, and the item could be tradeable. It has nothing to do with the quarter. The ticket would be 1 use, and give 1 month of membership. The membership tickets would stack so if you use 5 at once, you have 5 months membership. I don't want this to be pay 2 win, I just think people would have fun with some extra benefits, and they could buy it off other players. I think it was unfair that crows were added and then you had to buy scarecrows in the store in order to maintain the fields. This is more fair than that IMO

Sad, i was never on Roanoke, i have just tried to hide me of Tribe at Plymouth :D

But i can imagine it would be fun.
And you are right, every would only fight with cheap alts.
But indeed it could be fun if every people decide not to disturb massively.

I can also imagine that there could be marauding hordes in a kind of roleplay.
Means, no children like disturbings, but maybe kidnappings, wild shootings, drunken actings... we live in a world of less rules and much possibilities. ;)

this idea is stupid, while it would not be an issue for me and most other americans there are a lot of people in this game that live in poor countries where 5 bucks is the difference between eating or not yet have free internet/almost free internet (you know, the sort of thing liberals want to push here) and this would greatly demotivate them to play.

furthermore the entire purpose of an event is to be an infrequent treat where you have as many participants as you can, which is what makes the event in the first place. creating an admission fee would simply make the event suck.
