pickaxe and metal needed

hello everyone!


i have started playing again yesterday and managed to build small claim with house wall and some fields and even found some abandoned mine

but it turns out i need a pickaxe to mine which costs 700s! i remember that i could mine with a shovel back in 2012

this amount of silver is out of my reach currently (gotta extend my claim and buy more nails lol) especially with how little crikets and indian necklaces are worth nowadays

so i turn to the forums looking for someone who could sell a pickaxe and metal needed for my first smelter at a discount (thats 3 bars according to the wiki)
right now i have a little over 450s but i can try to gather a bit more today. or i could gather some materials instead of silver?

and also a question: are there some other materials that i will have to buy (and are impossible for me to craft)? i already have some seeds so im fine in this departament
