I don't know Kand, animals were pretty fun just as their own thing. Aside from being something fun for people to tinker with stat wise (a sort of breeding war for who can get the best breeds, and best home-consumption/ selling output / breeding input), I'm hoping JC will add mechanics relating to them to make them more relevant. When that happens people will want animals. But I did personally enjoy having some 40+ animals crammed into a barn before I let them all kick the bucket and lost the patience to tend to them xD With some townies though it'd become less of a chore and more of a fun thing to work towards.

i hadn't actually played with the animals myself much, but all I heard from prov townies on popham was the immense frustration with keeping everything organized, breeding bulls separate from your females etc. All for relatively little impact on actual gluttony sessions (except all that changed JC attacked nerfed tamales).

There's some nice aspects on husbandry , and I'm pretty sure all of them have not been publicly revealed.

Regrettably there's also some big downside too . In my point of view the worst one is that's too much time comsuming for the output . And don't be away more than 2 days guys , if you don't want to face disease outbreak or haunted barns. I will agree with Lachlaan it's more fun and more easy inside a town with several players.

Some players will like these game mechanics and have a lot of fun with animals, some will absolutly not. I'm not
