Is a secondary goal of yours to go and complete the ark before you end the server? :)

Its kinda of devs failure, you missjudge the server player base and made an impossible task for the small amount of people willing to do it. If you decided to listen to what people said when you first announced ark you could make it a bit easier, but still be nasty trolls and make all the effort go in vain at 90% or even 100% since JC still needs to make it possible for the animals to go in (would be more fun). You could also have made the event on Providence and that would actually up the population on Popham.

The Ark should be built in stages. The first stages requiring only little ressources but allowing to take only a certain number of animals (first arrived first served or for a very high fee), then the more ressources are needed and the more places or the less fee you have to pay to embark your animals.

I think is cheaper to pay 100usd for the animal pack than to play popham for months, wasting time and having almost 0 fun. That animal cash pack should be more expensive or with ONE random animal in a box.

popham animals are similar to Oculus Rift, just forget about it, let the rich kids buy it at impossible prices, then get them cheap

All these ideas are great, except for the timing. Great discussion now that the end is near.

Yeah, it was an experiment I guess, but basically a failure and they could have added something for it sooner. If they had given us -anything- to permit us to even reward each other, not even get rewarded by the game, for making progress on the ark then it might have worked. As is, with the pitiful little building sign there's just no incentive especially when the animals would likely end up working their way out into the population one way or another.

Oh well, hopefully they learned from the mistake

(edit: oops, jcwilk, wrong account u_u making alts for my providence move, lol)

About a year ago I pointed out that nobody would want to start on a new server, and put in the same amount of work on a character that they could do on the main server, with not only the elevated risk of pvp death, but the pending eventual downfall of the whole server. Making the expedition server run similar to the old systems of pie spamming and no "inspiration pool" would have given people access to decent characters, in a short time, with less worry about that character dying due to the ease of replacement. Which was the whole point, right? the spamming of low value characters to use in combat on the server where It dosnt really matter if they die or not? Oh well, good luck. May your next experiment be a Roanoke and not a Plymouth.
