Bad coder? Geez guys. When will you learn to appreciate the things John is doing for us? At least i do. I like how things are changing and i might not like all of them but i can live with that and learn to play the game with the things we have. Loosing a slottable belts hurts a bit but in change im hoping to see some new nice artifacts or the old ones buffed ;) I believe John is waiting to see some constructive critiscism and not a bs like that.

I love people who pretend they know anything about programming and express themselves.

If you are a low-class developer so .. there is a code makes you feel uncomfortable >_<
for me, for example, formal languages are is (example. English) :P

if JC knows how to turn around a cat's tail (some systems) is to write a simple script that would pull out artifacts and packaged artefacts in box is easy - when have mechanics of scissors ... and packages........

Don't listen to the haters JC. Thanks for the warning.
I was more concerned about the overall nerf of the artifices. As someone said it is an overall loss of 10-15% to all sets (especially the gluttony one). Do you plan on balancing it out by buffing the existing artifacts or adding new better artifacts?


And to all the people who complain that JC is a bad coder: Try to do the same and propose to him to do some work. Unless you can proove you can do better then you can shut your traps.

thats true, for feasting and affluence we already got a artifact now the "silver platter" now need for the rest of the set.

maybe a artifact that is epiic powerfull but we can only wear once per set? (so if u try to wear 2 it tells you it cant be done)

Lol, nice try but I've been a senior developer for years, have been programming since I was a kid, and have given talks at conferences. I'm not the best coder out there but I think I know a thing or two about not running your mouth at someone when they make estimates about their own code. Clearly you don't.

New Idea:

Think of that: The belt you wear to keep your pants in place is not necessarily like the belt that holds your tools, in some cases people can and will wear both.
*insert whynotboth meme here*

- Just add a new slot for utility only!
- normal belt only in existing normal belt slot
- utility "belt" only in utility slot
- utility slot could also be used for other things, like a harness:
+ climbing harness with maybe even a bonus to climbing and space for climbing tools: rope, flasks, yet to come climbing stuff, ...
+ "military" / hunting harness with space for additional weapons, ammunition, flasks, antidotes,...
(so you don't need to store that in pockets and can still port with an otherwise empty inventory!)
+ your usual toolbelts
+ whatever more you can think of
+ there could be, again, all harnesses in 3 tiers like toolbelts/tools

This could further be aimed at certain "areas", meaning, you keep your usual toolbelt when doing work in and around your home, or even still when going for a little forage,
whereas hunting/pvp, climbing/exploring, ... would recommend preparing yourself with a proper harness, though it not being necessary. And there is no severe disatvantage by not having/equipping one.
Further I would say: don't just make a harness or special belt for every profession or occasion where it might fit, but try to separate it a bit in the way of "areas" as described above, so you dont have to manually switch stuff just because you went from mining to woodworking to weaving to cooking...

JC is not a new programmer in Salem .........

He managed to convert inventory system with slots for weight

I do not know what technology is written in the server but probably also in Java.
I do not know what method of data storage uses. (hear database)

but he must one time convert all exsist items rebuild for new scructure....
so when rebuild items is easy for load parameters artefacts (slot) into list/array items and build pack

the problem is "who send"
because problem is relationship clothes - artifacts VS player

equip and backpack(in inventory) items isnt problem
but if mannequins and boxes is problem because mannequins and boxes havent relationship VS user player

OR

he convert old belts into new belts when player use it - this problem not exsist...

but I do not know how converts and converts objects.
i can guess the file is processed JSON / XML or if the data is in the database tables it worked ... and why we lose some things

additionally he did not say that this is difficult to do, just because it is the same and a lot of the time it consumes TODAY
But it's easier to say that something is difficult to do than to admit he did not want me to and from a lot of the time it absorbed
if a person has a normal operation (ie. JC is a programmer by profession) returns home and also must sit at salem - this man can burn (hard time), I know something about it.
