just suck it up.
There were times when the number of slots on stuff was simply nerfed without any warning, losing your stuff in the highest slots (which was typically the good stuff). Be glad we get this warning.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

As I told, I don't like this approach and I left here my well reasoned opinion about that, with adequate suggestions. The fact then there was a time when you were unable to do something right, or the fact that there are some other guys that keep doing similar things wrong, doesn't mean that you want or need to keep doing things wrong.

i agree with the others - I'd rather have the devs work on actual changes rather than those one-shot corner-case implementations when it is so easy to just alert the community on what is coming.

I disagree, this is not "one shot corner case" since there was a precedent before (you've mentioned that), will be soon, and will be after the belt are done (JC mentioned that in roadmap).
I also thing that it should be less, but more quality updates. If you rush, you're getting bad, unpolished, or simply ugly output, like we had recently - books, music, or livestock.
Do you remember livestock? I do. Dead animals can breed, dead animals can dig, animals can resurrect from time to time, dead animals are making sounds, died baby animals can kill you with madness when you enter an instance like house, mine or barn, live animals can block your way and you can't "Shoo" them, leash is breaking when you TP, animals are dying without a reason, animal tempers aren't too obvious without an offline instruction from JC etc. etc. Some things from this list are fixed. Some are still live.

Dude, can't you understand that this game has one coder with limited time to work? John can spend hours and hours doing special code that is much more difficult than you seem to think it is just to save a few artifacts per person, or you can have the entire Windmill patch with the lovely new bags and the gluttony balances and all the other stuff and the entire next patch as well. I know I prefer two entire patches to a couple lost belt artifacts.

Oh, don't remind me that windmill. It's a shame that game was "released" with a strange hand-operated mechanism without a textures inside that windmill, that was there since closed alpha.

LOMS wrote:Another harmless decision, worthy of a professional - you can unslot all belts and wrap them in a pack with it's own inventory, like gift pack. Name it "Belt overhaul pack" if you like. By doing this, you will save every belt and every artifice your players have in their sheds and on their characters. It's harder and more time consuming, then "simple warning", but in return you will have another professional tool in your arsenal for other clothing overhauls you're planning.

This is a good suggestion and i would prefer this: +1

Another post mentioned the legacy belts. If JC could do this, all people would be happy about and noone will cry about this major change.
Mannequin belts are another case, so JC can place this warning only for them, to unequip them before the change will happen.

Other possibility would be a NPC in town who take out artifacts without destroying the belt for a average amount of silver.
So every people can decide if they use tailor skills for removing artifacts or use the NPC for getting back the Belt too.

For people who are absent at the moment is this change a very bad thing. So an automatically process would be the best.

and NEW!
"Dude, can't you understand that this game has one coder with limited time to work?"
and other...

what can i say:
