It doesn't fit the theme at all. Why not make a watch tower building to shoot from or let us make slots in walls to fire from. There are many cool and interesting things you can do instead of making ppl step back in tech for no reason

I can increase the wall size model if its really breaking realism for everybody. However, from an assaulting perspective.

Your guns do not reasonably shoot through, or up and over this. However, a barrage of arrows lobbed over do. I have no clue why I would implement a new thing to do the exact same thing the other ranged weapon does anyway. Guns are combat equalizers with % based damage. Bows are for hitting targets that you otherwise couldn't do.

You know people go into the buildings at the corner of that wall to shoot right? Again why break the theme?

There could be a entire new level of defense and Emerson with those buildings. We could have actual forts

I honestly don't really see the point to having bows and arrows other then a nod to the tribe

I don't mind letting defenders mount some structure that lets their guns avoid walls. The problem would then boil down to attackers building defensive watch towers etc. etc. etc. and the whole thing erupts where attackers use the defensive building for their advantage again. Things like Mortars I figured would be fun. Attackers building 'watch towers' right next to a defenders base just sounds dumb.

My beef with mortars is the carry capacity of high bile toons... I saw what it requires to make them but with only a little bit of planning a high bile toon can cart in more than enough material to build motars, anvils to attack/destroy another's claim.

The only way to offset that is to make your claim 10x bigger than it needs to be (silver sink) just to keep raiders, mortars, staked crabs, etc... far enough away from the area a pilgrim does want to use.

I was shooting for a town bell, but instead I'm expanding my pclaim to ridiculous size (squares)... Bell is pretty easy to defeat seemingly... about the only thing a defender really has at the moment is to maximize the bile drain (according to new rules)... and to keep raiders from building mortars in easy reach of worked areas.

Is your entire claim covered with high value trees? Are you not able to move them into a central area? I understand it might take a little while and be inconvenient with the regrowing of the fruit trees, but it should be possible. Easier than expanding your pclaim, at least.
